BuddyJobs is a job platform built by CareerBuddy, a recruitment business founded in Lagos in 2018. It serves 28 countries and covers remote-anywhere roles globally, with on-the-ground networks in Lagos, Nairobi, Cairo, Cape Town, and Accra. The platform is invite-only for candidates: applications are reviewed, and you are only accepted if the platform believes it can help you find a materially better role. It hires across engineering, product, design, data, growth, and consulting, for mid-to-senior positions only—it is not a graduate board.

Key features include mandatory salary bands on all job postings, candidate anonymity by default (your name is only revealed when you choose to reply), and a limit of hearing from at most three companies per month. The platform is free for candidates forever, with no premium tier or fees. Employers pay a flat per-seat fee with no per-hire commissions, no contingency, and no agency markup. They can also post a single Spotlight role for $35 without committing to a subscription, and the Always Hiring subscription comes with a 14-day refund and a 24-hour response SLA.
