ミイダス is a free smartphone app (available on iOS and Android) designed for job seekers in Japan, with a stated focus on small and medium-sized enterprises. Registration takes about five minutes and does not require your name or address. The app offers three diagnostic tools: a market value diagnosis that estimates your current worth based on similar users' salary data and company interest; a competency diagnosis that analyzes behavioral traits, suitable job types, management aptitude, and compatibility with bosses and subordinates; and a bias diagnosis game that measures cognitive biases. The competency diagnosis is supervised by the HR Science Research Institute, whose members hold doctoral degrees in informatics, psychology, and cognitive neuroscience.

The competency diagnosis takes about 20 minutes on a smartphone or tablet and reveals 52 items, including personality tendencies, stress-prone conditions, and compatibility details. Results include a 'possibility of success' score for each job, even in fields you have no experience in. The diagnosis is based on scientific evidence and can be used in application documents and interviews. Based on your diagnostic results, you receive 'interview-guaranteed scouting' from companies, meaning the document screening is already passed. The app also includes a search function with detailed filtering options. A separate corporate site exists for companies considering recruitment.
