Job seekers can search by job title or keyword, and also browse by location, including all U.S. states and many cities within them. The site offers a Career Explorer assessment that matches a user's personality with public health careers. Job postings are sourced from the ASTHO Job Board and appear within a few hours of posting.

Governmental public health agencies can post jobs at no cost by entering vacancies on the ASTHO Job Board or by providing an XML feed. ASTHO supports the direct XML feed option at no cost to health jurisdictions. Once ASTHO receives an XML feed, jobs can be expected to appear in PublicHealthCareers.org searches within 10 business days. Employers can manage accounts and postings, including renewing postings for more than 30 days, from the ASTHO Job Board site.
