UTern

UTern is an active recruiting platform focused exclusively on internships, not full-time jobs. Students never pay to use the service and do not need a resume or past internship to participate. Students submit their own applications, and UTern never applies on their behalf. The platform does not guarantee an interview.

For companies, posting a role costs $0. Payment is due only when a hire is made: $750 for the first hire within 12 months, $600 each for the second and third, and $500 from the fourth hire onward. UTern shows the pay on every internship posting when the employer states it. Companies see student records without name, photo, school rank, or graduation year. A feature called Birdee scopes a paid ten-week intern project with the company, defining outcome, weekly milestones, skills, and mentor time.

UTern checks student records for eligibility and skills, labeling verified information separately from self-reported information. For companies recruiting through UTern, a student says yes to a role before the company sees their record.
