Youth in Heritage

Youth in Heritage (YIH) is a job portal exclusively for early career employment opportunities in Canada, with a focus on the cultural heritage sector. Youth from anywhere in the country can access and apply to jobs at no cost. The job search page includes filters for type (Full Time, Part Time), status, and funding, and allows sorting by Latest First, Alphabetical, or Earliest Start Date. Users can also choose to show all positions, include filled positions, or only show jobs funded by Youth in Heritage.

Employers can post jobs for free if they qualify for the YIH wage subsidy or have an ICOMOS Canada member number. The wage subsidy covers 50% of wages up to $3,200 for employment between April 1, 2024 and March 31, 2025, and is available for 44 eligible employers and employees. To qualify, the employee must be between 15-30 years old and be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person granted refugee status. The subsidy cannot be combined with funding from the Federal YESS strategy, including YCW and VFC.
